Abstract

The article deals with the problem of creating Russian pronunciation courses for Portuguese native speakers. It is well known that Portuguese is native not only for the inhabitants of Portugal: it is spoken in many countries around the world. Each Portuguese-speaking country has its own variant of the Portuguese language. All these variants have many differences, and most of them are observed in phonetics. In this regard, students from Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique and other Portuguese-speaking countries often have different phonetic deviations in Russian speech. The most striking diff erence between the accents of the Portuguese, Brazilians and Portuguese-speaking Africans is due to the discrepancy between the phonetic patterns in diff erent variants of the Portuguese language. For this reason, during the creation of Russian practical phonetic course for Portuguese-speaking students, it is necessary to take into account the positional patterns of phonetic system of each variant of the Portuguese language. Th e article analyzes the main deviations in the pronunciation of Russian coronal consonants in the speech of Portuguese-speaking students, caused by the transfer of positional patterns of different variants of the Portuguese language into Russian language. Based on the analysis, a phonetic course was developed that can be used to teach Portuguese, Brazilians and Portuguesespeaking Africans. The course includes materials that are addressed to all native Portuguese speakers and materials that are relevant only to particular groups of students: for the Portuguese, for Brazilians or for Portuguese speaking Africans. The article presents some teaching materials of the phonetic course.
