Shaping of higher philological education in the field of the Russian language in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

Abstract

The article provides an analysis of the development of philological education in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), from 1935 to our time, studying traditions and the current state of it in the region. The authors explore features of the functioning of various aspects of the Russian language in Yakutia on the example of the Russian language of the descendants of the Novgorod Pomors living in Yakutia; trace Russian-Yakut literary connections; carry out a comparative study of Russian and Yakut languages within the framework of the traditions of the Yakut scholarly and methodological school of teaching Russian language and literature in the schools of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia); show the main directions of educational and research activities of the Faculty of Philology of M. K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University with attention to creation of new undergraduate programs and interdisciplinary master's programs; explore the role of the school of national journalism, its influence on the development of the media in Russia and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Th e article analyzes the international activities of the Faculty of Philology of M. K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University related to the functioning of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language. Various activities of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language are shown: the creation of a semiotic map of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in order to enhance the cognitive interests of foreign students from Africa, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacifi c countries to the Russian language; opening a bachelor's degree program in Russian as a foreign language; implementation of the of M. K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University double degree program with Heilongjiang Oriental University (Harbin, China); development of the interdisciplinary master's program “Great Russian Language”, together with the Financial and Economic Institute and the Faculty of Law; opening of the Centers of the Russian language, literature, culture of M. K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University in Chinese universities.
