Editorial Policy of the Journal

The journal "World of the Russian Word", created twenty years ago, is the printed organ of the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature, therefore its content reflects the tasks and goals of the founder.

The journal aims to help strengthen the role of the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation, the language of interethnic communication and international cooperation.

The journal serves as an information platform for discussing the results of research, methodological and educational activities of Russian and foreign scientists, as well as practicing teachers specializing in the Russian language.

The goals of the journal are to contribute to the development of professional contacts of Russian scholars and to establish contacts with people studying Russian language and literature, to provide competent feedback with federal bodies and state structures of Russia, carrying out activities to improve state educational standards and the state testing system, to promote their implementation in teaching practice.

The central task of the journal is to inform about the theoretical and methodological results of scientific work of university and academic science.

Publications of scientific, popular science, review and informational articles are intended to introduce into scientific circulation the results of new research concerning the position of the Russian language in the modern world, the peculiarities of the functioning of the Russian language as the state language, the culture of Russian speech, stylistics, theoretical and applied aspects of media didactics and distance teaching the Russian language, cultural linguistics, methods of teaching Russian as a native, non-native, foreign, analysis of modern trends in the development of school and university Russian studies.

The policy of the journal is implemented in the publication of articles of a theoretical nature. Priority is given to articles devoted to the analysis of linguistic means in the systemic and functional directions of communicative and cognitive linguistics, which significantly expand knowledge about the semantic potential of linguistic means of all levels, as well as to articles that directly implement new knowledge in the process of teaching perception and generating discourse communication in Russian as a Foreign Language.

In the field of linguistic and cultural studies, preference is given to articles that form a cultural and information base for a linguistic personality, contributing to the successful development of semantic reading, which plays an important role in the formation of not only linguistic knowledge and skills of students, but also ethical attitudes adopted among native speakers. This is especially important at the present time, when the literature of “new sincerity” revives interest both in the Russian classics and in the problems of human behavior and education of feelings.

The editors plan to publish articles on the style of modern fiction, which most directly reflects the actual emotional and ethical state of society in the language.

It is expected that articles on the culture of speech will be of a normative and corrective nature and contribute to the ordering of speech activity, especially in social networks of the Internet space.

The methodology of language teaching currently demonstrates a close connection with theoretical linguistics, which requires methodological works to deepen their linguistic base and rely on experimental data confirming the effectiveness of the proposed provisions.

The development of cognitive linguistics, expanding the semantic field of research and presentation of the semantic potential of linguistic means, the development of cultural linguistics with the revealed connection of the conceptualization process with the peculiarities of the national intelligence, the theory of the text, first of all of an artistic nature, revealing the emotional features of the national character of a person, should constitute the content side of the methods that generate the search for ways of mastering the language as an expression of the cultural characteristics of the nation.

Thus, the content of the journal reflects those aspects of Russian literature, which, constituting the unity of philological science, are embodied in the process of teaching the Russian language.

In further work, the editors of the journal plan to clarify the aims and objectives set during the creation of the journal and constantly updated over twenty years of its existence, as well as to provide its readers with complete information about the current directions of research and practice in the field of Russian philology in the country and the world.
