The article is devoted to the problems of adverbial prepositions presentation in the standard methodological documents of the State testing system for Russian as a foreign language (TORFL). The adverbial prepositions, presented in the Basic dictionaries of the Elementary, Basic and First certificated levels of TORFL, are elicited. The article carries out the comparison of adverbial prepositions presentation in the Basic dictionaries of three mentioned levels; gives an analysis of real functioning for these adverbial prepositions as bifunctional units based on data of Russian National Corpus; reveals the difficulties arising in applied lexicographic description of this type of bifunctionals. In addition, the article examines some linguistic issues related to the nature and functioning of adverbial prepositions. The study revealed a number of problems, which are relevant for the presentation of adverbial prepositions in standard methodical documents of TORFL system: 1) the problem of equivalence / non-equivalence of adverbial and prepositional functions; 2) the problem of priority of adverbial or prepositional function; 3) the problem of determining the presentation order for polysemantic prepositions; 4) the problem of polyfunctional units; 5) the problem of compound adverbial prepositions; 6) the translation problem.
