About the Professional Association of University Teachers and Teachers of the Russian Language

The authors explore Russian language teaching process in high school, trying to discover the potential of the professional association of university professors and Russian language teachers. The purpose of the research is to find out new forms for making a creative methodological union of university professors and Russian language teachers in order to exchange experience in solving urgent problems of teaching Russian as a native language under the conditions of renewal of Russian education. The article analyzes theoretical sources, the practice of teaching Russian in modern school, and suggests methods of overcoming negative trends in teaching. The urgency of the problem is emphasized, firstly, because of the fundamental importance of the Russian language for the development of the student's personality; secondly, because the lack of a system of speech, spelling and language skills among school graduates; thirdly, and this is the main point, there is a gap between the accumulated theoretical potential of modern methodological scholarship — new approaches, methods and teaching technologies — and the practical methodology of teaching Russian at high school. In the process of analyzing this problem, the authors promote the idea to overcome this contradiction by creating a professional association of university professors and Russian language teachers. The authors share their experience of using information and methodological platform “Initiative”, presenting the organizational forms of its work. The article considers the theoretical aspects of the problem posed taking into account modern data of psychology, psycholinguistics, linguistics, methods of Russian language teaching; they offer such forms of work as master classes, round tables, scholarly and practical conferences, webinars. In conclusion, the authors conclude about the effectiveness of the work of the professional association, which is proved by the obtained results. Thus, a new form of professional association of university professors and Russian language teachers serves to protect the “genetic code” of education in Russia.
