The article examines the role of linguocultural approach applied to teaching Russian as a foreign language and analyzes the potential of infographics as a teaching tool. The authors argue that the study of a language is, first of all, the study of the culture transmitted by this language, and, therefore, the inclusion of cultural elements in the educational material is relevant and important. The article focuses on the combination of vocabulary, grammar, linguistic and cultural material as a method that can help to form students' fuller linguistic competence. In linguoculturology courses, the instructor should provide information on the culture of the country of the target language and involve students in a conversation on this topic. And infographics, being a polycode text, is optimal for this task, since they affect the visual channel, presenting complex data in a concise form, which contributes to the formation of students’ skills to lead a discussion and increases their interest in target language country. In addition, the article focuses on infographics as a basis for creating new exercises, depending on the lexical and grammatical context of the lesson. The authors share their practical experience of using infographics in linguocultural courses in a Korean audience and also offer some methodological recommendations on the use of infographics in teaching Russian as a foreign language. The article concludes that, in general, the use of infographics makes it possible to more effectively achieve the set goals and objectives.
